Once a flop is seen, however, rake is collected at a rate of 5% of the pot. Depending on the stakes you are playing, the amount of rake taken will be in proportion to the size of the pot. For instance, at the smallest stakes, $.01/$.02, 1 cent is taken for every $.20 in the pot. However, at $.25/$.50, they take $.05 for every $1 in the pot. The maximum rake taken from any pot is $3 when there are 5 or more players at the table. If there are 3 or 4 players, the max rake is $2, and when playing heads-up, the max rake is only $.75.
