The FTOPS XIX Main Event was held on Sunday on Full Tilt Poker. It was a multi-entry tournament, a new format recently introduced by Full Tilt, which drew a total of 14479 entries. Multi-entry tournaments are the latest innovation from the site that brought us Rush Poker.

Full Tilt allowed players to register up to six times for the event. As a result, many players took advantage of the opportunity to register multiple times in the same tournament to increase the chances of winning, and it became one of the biggest online poker tournaments to ever take place.

The huge player pool also meant that the prize pool was even bigger, and a record-breaking payout in excess of a million-dollars was paid out. Interestingly, however, the seven-figure sum of money didn't go to the eventual winner.

GIAMPP won the FTOPS XIX Main Event for $877,950, but wasn't the player to collect the biggest prize for winning the tournament. As soon as play became three-handed, a deal was made, which saw Blair 'blur5f6' Hinkle collecting $1,162,950 for second prize!

As you can imagine, with so many players participating in FTOPS, it actually took a while before the player field was narrowed down to a few remaining players. After 14 hours, there were 13 players still battling it out on the virtual felt, and the action at the final table finally came to an end in the early hours of Monday.

Blair 'blur5f6' Hinkle, a 2008 WSOP bracelet winner, had the biggest stack leading into the final table. The final table also saw a player who made a deep run in two previous FTOPS XIX events this year. It was the third final table for Daniel 'WiLDmAn75' Buzgon.

When action started at the final table, Nicholas 'Colonel Mustard' Stowell was the first player to get eliminated, followed by 'beerocrat' and '425wedabest'.

Even though Buzgon would take over the chip lead for a brief while, ultimately he was knocked out by 'GIAMPP' in fifth place. Then, the next player to get eliminated was 'Nayza' in fourth place.

Next, there was a short break at the final table as a deal negotiated between the three remaining players.

As soon as play resumed, after such a long and exhausting tournament for all the players, they surely would have been happy to see the end of it, and the FTOPS XIX Main Event was eventually won by 'GIAMPP.'

The tournament results of the final table were as follows:

1. GIAMPP - $877,950
2. Blair 'blur5f6' Hinkle - $1,162,950
3. SirMad - $805,440
4. Nayza - $451,745
5. Daniel 'WiLDmAn75' Buzgon - $321,434
6. J NOCK - $230,216
7. 425wedabest - $165,061
8. beerocrat - $121,624
